Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
The Coronary Care Unit provides critical care for patients with life-threatening cardiac conditions, including:
Hemodynamic instability requiring fluids or pharmacologic support
Septic shock
Cardiac arrest
Life-threatening arrhythmias
Unstable heart failure
Cardiac tamponade
Retroperitoneal bleeding
Cardiomyopathies requiring intensive monitoring
Acute coronary syndrome
Patients undergoing thrombolytic therapy
Critical cardiac infections or inflammation (e.g., pericarditis requiring intervention)
Severe electrolyte disturbances
Patients needing mechanical or advanced pharmacological cardiac support (e.g., IABP, ECMO, antiarrhythmics)
