Welcome to nuclear medicine department. Our core mission is to provide excellent clinical service, education and research related to nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. We are committed to bring innovative diagnostic procedures, covering the entire spectrum of conventional Nuclear medicine and hybrid modalities as SPECT/CT and PET/CT, in order to provide state of the art nuclear medicine services.

Commitment Beyond Care

Nuclear medicine is medical specialty that uses radioactive tracers to assess organ functions, diagnose and treat disease. Nuclear Medicine department at Chest Diseases Hospital offers many diverse medical services since late eighties highly by highly qualified and well-trained staff.

Accessibility

Easily accessible facility, located at first floor of the new Diagnostic building in Chest Diseases Hospital - Sabah Medical area. The department is equipped with the state of art equipment’s including: PET/CT, SPECT/CT & dedicated cardiac D-SPECT cameras.

Communication

Networking with other departments and units, to achieve better correlation between different modalities, reaching to the most accurate diagnosis. Establishment of interdepartmental collaboration with other hospitals in order to achieve good correlative imaging and better service.

Practicing Nuclear medicine in accordance with ethical standards, legal statues and both local and international published standards of practice.

Providing safe environment for patients, employees and visitors. Ensuring appropriate patient comfort, monitoring, and care before, during and after procedures. Practicing ALARA principles thereby limiting the radiation exposure of the patient, public and workers.

Education & Training

Continuous upgrading of employee’s education and skills. Actively participating in structured teaching of residents in Nuclear Medicine Board, Cardiology Fellowship program and students from Allied Health Faculty.
